Under general supervision and according to established policies and procedures, the Immigration Paralegal works closely with attorneys in the preparation, filing, and management of U.S. business and individual immigration matters.

This role requires comprehensive knowledge of immigration processes, the ability to manage multiple case types simultaneously, and frequent interaction with clients, internal stakeholders, and government agencies while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely execution.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Prepares nonimmigrant and immigrant petitions, applications, and supporting documentation for attorney review in a timely manner.
  • Drafts support letters and assembles filing packages in accordance with applicable regulations and firm standards.
  • Manages multiple immigration matters concurrently at various stages of preparation and adjudication.
  • Reviews documents and information to assist attorneys with issue-spotting and case strategy development.
  • Monitors filed and pending matters, escalating irregularities, delays, or risks as appropriate.
  • Communicates clearly and professionally with clients, attorneys, internal staff, and government agencies, both verbally and in writing.
  • Requests, organizes, and tracks client documentation to ensure completeness and compliance.
  • Provides status updates and responds to routine inquiries regarding immigration matters.
  • Utilizes internal data management systems to maintain accurate, current case records.
  • Generates reports for internal and client use as required.
  • Ensures adherence to firm policies, immigration regulations, and confidentiality requirements.
  • Assists with continuous process improvement related to case tracking and workflow efficiency.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university preferred.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Paralegal certification required; substantial equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of certification.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of U.S. business immigration experience, preferably in a law firm setting.
  • Investor visa experience preferred, but not required.
  • Demonstrated experience preparing nonimmigrant and immigrant petitions and applications.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to manage deadlines and prioritize competing demands.
  • Innovative, independent thinker with strong problem-solving skills.

This position operates in a normal office environment with little exposure to excessive noise or temperature variations. Due to workload demands and filing deadlines, work may occasionally require more than 40 hours per week and irregular hours.
